The RubySpec project was considered by Ruby 1.8/1.9 development teams as a complimentary test suite for conformance. RubySpec acts as both existing Ruby the language specification (Ruby has no formal spec) and a spec suite. RubySpec is used by Rubinius, IrontRuby and JRuby (MacRuby and Ruby.NET devs are considering using it as well). MRI (1.8) is considered "the golden standard".
